Bev Smith

Bev Smith is a well-known name to most in the Ducks community, both as a player and coach of the women's basketball program. She played a large role in growing the popularity of women's basketball in the pivotal years after Title IX was passed, earning a spot in the UO's inaugural Athletic Hall of Fame class in 1992.

At the annual Ducks on the Beach event earlier this year, UO alum and former women’s basketball coach Bev Smith reflected on the 50th anniversary of Title IX, the importance of the legislation, and her personal experiences as a UO and international player and coach.
